About 4 Hooves N Paws

Where animal lovers shop for the animals they love.

Starting 4 Hooves N Paws felt like the natural next step—a way to connect with fellow animal lovers across the contiguous United States and help them find quality products for the animals that enrich our lives.

I'm a lifelong Pacific Northwesterner, born and raised in the shadows of Mt. Rainier and the Cascades. I've spent decades here going to school, building my career, and enjoying life, especially on horseback.  I was lucky enough to build a forever home on a piece of family property where it all started. Animals have been part of my life from the very beginning. Over the years I've been fortunate to care for quite a variety: cats, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, parakeets, cockatiels, hedgehogs, ferrets, lizards, mice, rabbits, goats, cows, ponies, horses, and dogs.

Horses have been my greatest teachers. Some of them were direct descendants of horses we had when I was six years old.

When you spend time with a horse—teaching them haltering, groundwork, flexing, and saddling—you begin to understand just how much they notice. They respond to the smallest movements, the slightest shift in your body, and the quietest cues from the end of a lead or lunge line.

You learn to recognize the signs that tell you they're beginning to understand: the softening, the licking of lips, and the deep exhale. That’s when you know it’s time to end on a good note and let them process what they’ve learned.

It becomes a partnership built on patience, trust, and countless small moments that add up over time.

Breezy, the mare featured in the 4 Hooves N Paws logo, represents so much of what horses have meant in my life—patience, trust, partnership, and the countless memories that come from spending years together. Every horse has a unique personality, and every one has taught me something different.

Then there are the ones who keep you laughing. Paleface, our Curious George, who decided fence-fixing sessions were the perfect time to grab a tool and walk off with it, swinging his head back and forth just to see if I'd noticed. He'd even grab a saddle pad with his teeth and toss it on the ground before I even had time to reach for the saddle.

Dogs have their own kind of magic — loyal, forgiving, and endlessly entertaining. Sadie, the Victorian Bulldog featured in the 4 Hooves N Paws logo, was one of those unforgettable dogs. Victorian Bulldogs were a rare sight in our area.  She was absolutely amazing—nothing fazed her, and we were able to take her anywhere. She had a gift when she was out and about: she'd approach someone, look up at them with the saddest eyes they'd ever seen, then quietly turn around and sit her 80-pound, short, blocky self right down on their feet. She learned early that she could train anyone, anywhere — because they'd have no choice but to reach down and give her a proper scratch before she'd budge. Hilarious.

Every animal teaches you something.

Reading and learning about their food, habitat, bedding, and unique needs takes time — but making sure they have an environment where they can truly thrive is worth every bit of it. And a special treat for just being cute? Never out of the question.

That's why I started this store. To offer products I've personally used, products similar to those I've found especially useful over the years, and others I've carefully selected after extensive research and customer reviews.

I'll be adding new products weekly, so check back often! And if you're looking for something specific or have questions, I'd love to hear from you. Send me an email at support@4hoovesnpaws.com and I'll get back to you personally.

Thank you for visiting 4 Hooves N Paws. I hope you'll stop by often as we continue adding products for every hoof, paw, feather, and tail.
